About
As a child growing up in my community, I witnessed first hand the enormous stigma attached to mental health. As an adult, one who is very involved and active in my community, I had the privilege of counselling people in informal settings, the experience sowed a seed in my heart to strive for a meaningful change in attitude towards mental health in my community and society at large. Consequently, I trained as a humanistic and integrative counsellor and psychotherapist at the renowned Sherwood Institute and Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in counselling and psychotherapy. I run a private practice called Horizon Oak Therapy based in Nottingham, United Kingdom and also online. I work and adhere to the ethical framework of the BACP, attending clinical supervision and personal therapy sessions to ensure I work ethically and safely. My hobbies are cycling and football, and I love spending time with family over meals.
