About

My Journey and Practice

Growing up in my community, I witnessed first-hand the deep stigma surrounding mental health. These early experiences shaped my understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges many face in silence. As an adult actively engaged in my community, I had the privilege of informally supporting individuals through difficult times—an experience that planted a seed of purpose in me: to help shift attitudes toward mental health and promote healing and acceptance.

This calling led me to train as a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist at the renowned Sherwood Institute and Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, where I earned a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I now run a private practice, Horizon Oak Therapy, based in Nottingham and also available online. My work is grounded in the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I engage in regular clinical supervision and personal therapy to ensure my practice remains ethical, reflective, and safe.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy cycling, football, and sharing meals with family—moments that keep me grounded and connected.
